New Catholic Schools

In 2010 the then Government placed a faith-based admissions cap for new Catholic schools. In practice this meant that only 50% of Catholic applications could be admitted. The Government has since admitted this is discriminatory. Theresa May said this cap should be removed in 2016 and the Conservative manifesto promised to do so. Now there is a distinct possibility that the promise may be discarded. So all Catholics need to make our point. To do so write to your MP or visit

Advanced Notice of Mass Time Changes

Christmas Eve is on Sunday this year. Fr John is combining the Sunday 9am and 10.30 Masses so there will be ONE Sunday morning Mass at 10am. The Vigil Mass of Christmas will be at 6pm on Sunday evening and Midnight Mass beginning with carols at 11.30. Christmas Day Masses will be at 9am and 10.30

Liturgy Note

According to our Catholic Directory, from Sunday 17th the liturgy is more directly addressed to preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus on the first Christmas. We remember that God became flesh in Jesus, to live among us. So Christmas is a ‘memorial’ of his first coming; that he might come in glory again at the end of time to gather us into glory with him. MAY WE BE READY FOR THE GREAT GATHERING DAY.
