Intentions of the Dearie Family (Kathleen McGowan)

First Reading: (Isa: 5:1-7). This poem and love-song uses the metaphor of a vineyard to describe God’s lavish care for his people.

Second Reading: (Phil 4:6-9). ¬†We hear St Paul’s exhortation not to worry but rather to turn to the God of peace in prayer and to take the apostle himself as a model.

The Gospel: (Mt.21:33-43). Jesus’ parable of the tenants and the vineyard confronts us with the duty to produce fruit worthy of the Kingdom of God.

Responsorial Psalm (102): The vineyard of the Lord is the House of Israel

Fr. John's Absence

Fr John will be attending a conference organised by our Archbishop. It will take place in a former seminary in Merville, France. Two groups of clergy have already been to Merville. The purpose of the conference is to provide a setting for reflection on Pope Francis’ letter on Marriage and Family Life. The title of the Popes letter is ‘Laetita Amoris’, (The Joy of Love). The Mass intentions for next week’s Masses will be said by Fr John whilst in Merville. Fr John will travel from Ebbsfleet on a return ticket, on the Eurostar.
