Parish Faith and Culture Day
Our Celebration is on Sunday 16th October 2016

As we did last year, Mass will be at 11am.  The 9am mass will be cancelled.  Last year we had a great Parish day so hopefully it will be even better this year as we come together to celebrate our common Catholic Faith and our diverse cultures.  St John Paul II once said that faith which is not enculturated is no faith because it has not taken root in the people.  While our faith is common to us all, it finds different expressions in different cultures which are enriching for us all.  The Holy Spirit speaks in many languages.

The Evangelisation group met on Wednesday and planning is moving ahead for the BIG DAY. The message is “Let us all join in!” National dress, food, music, national hymns, bidding prayers in different languages, liturgical dance, drink, banner, national coloured bunting, bouncy castle,. Thinking caps on, share your ideas with Fr. John or come to the next meeting on Wednesday October 5th at the Presbytery at 19.30.

Thank you

Reflection

If I had a message to my contemporaries it is surely this: Be anything you like, be mad men, drunkards, and bastards of every shape or form, but at all costs avoid one thing; success .... if you are too obsessed with success you will forget to live. Thomas Merton

The aim of mankind should be to make man kinder!!!

You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough!!
