All Parishioners -  Parish Faith & Culture Day

Sunday 27th September b_20_20

First Reading (Num 11:25-29). The Lord, in the guise of a cloud, gave a portion of his spirit to the elders, chosen to help Moses to led Israel. Tow elders who had not gone with the others also began to prophesy. Moses wished that all Israel were prophets of the Lord.

Second Reading (Jas 5:16). Bad times are coming for the rich. Their treasures, rather than offering a comfortable life, will consume them. The prayers of those cheated by the rich have been heard by the Lord. The rich’s wealth will disappear and their bodies will rot away.

Gospel (Mk 9:38-43, 45, 47-48). For Jesus anyone who is not against you is for you. Anything or anyone that supports faith is to be encouraged, even if all they can offer is a life-giving cup of water. Anything or anyone that is an obstacle to faith is better removed from your life.

Sunday Mass Readers

Please, please collect your Scripture guide from the Sacristy, which covers Sundays from October to December. This pamphlet is very important as it gives a resume of the passages to be read which will enable readers to get an understanding of the text. This helps the reader to proclaim the message more confidently and with conviction.
