Sunday 24th May- The Most Holy Trinity Sunday b_20_20

First Reading (Dt 4:32-34, 39-40). Recalls the great events of the Exodus and appeals to the faith and fidelity of the people that God may continue to bless them.

Second Reading (Rom 8:14-17). Christians can acknowledge God as their Father in relationship to intimacy. This is made possible by the Spirit who communicates God’s life through Christ.

Gospel (Mt 28:16-20). In the risen Christ and through faith-fullness to his teaching we remain in communication with the Blessed Trinity into which we have been baptized.

Sunday 31st May: Responsorial Psalm: Happy the people the Lord have chosen as his own.

The Month of May is the month of MARY so in her honour we have our
May procession and we are encouraged to pray the ROSARY.

  • Welcome: There is still a lot of room on the display area for expressions of the word WELCOME in our different national languages and cultures. So do ‘post’ yours, indicating which it is. By the way thanks for the new arrivals.
  • Lesness Abbey: The annual Lesness Abbey Procession of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on 28th June 2015. Gather at 15:00. See poster in porch for more details.

GOD in Christ, moves out of himself in love and this makes it all true love ecstatic. – Dionysius the Areopagite.

Do not be content to live a mediocre Christian life. Walk with determination along the path of Holiness. Pope Francis.

With Christ the heart never grows old. Pope Francis.

The Feast of the Blessed Trinity

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Blessed Trinity. In the gospel Jesus sends the disciples out to teach and baptise in the nake of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit promising to be with them (His Church) until the end of time and He is true to his word as we see from the words of the prayer below:

“My name is I AM”

“When you live in the past, with its mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My Name is not – I WAS.

When you live in the future, with its problems and fears, it is hard. I am not here. My name is not – I WILL BE.

When you live in this moment, It is not hard. I am here. My name is I AM.”

In Memory of Fr Victor Rocha

Fr Victor Rocha, passed away peacefully on Pentecost Sunday (24th May 2015). What a special gift, a treasure and a joy to countless people on this journey of life through faith. A priest for 61 years, he has been a man of deep faith, the rock of our family, a dearly loved uncle and an inspiration to many. He enjoyed his visits to our parish every year and was looking forward to his trip this March too!

On behalf of my family, I wish to thank you for thinking of him, for your prayers, love and encouragement I have received. He was a Pentecost person and was taken home on a very special day. So in the spirit of Fr. Victor, let us remember to keep the flame burning in our minds, hearts and in our lives. Rest in peace dear Uncle Victor. – Glynis Pereira and family.

Parish Evangelisation

We met on Thursday. We prayed using the words of our parish prayer. After some reflection and discussion we came to realise that what united us as a group and as a parish was our Catholic Faith. Devise because as we re your Faith unites us in Jesus Christ. So we decided that on a Sunday in the autumn there would be an International Parish Mass incorporation scripture readings, bidding prayers, hymns music and dress of our culturally rich parish followed by the sharing together of food and drink? from around the world confident that the Lord will be at the party. We meet again on Wednesday June 10th at 8.00pm. Do feel free to join us. Thank you.
